Bringing Pilates Reformer to Stoke-on-Trent
At Precision One, we have brought together the principles of Pilates and our core values of personal training to bring you the city’s first group Reformer Pilates class.
I’ve been a member at P1 for a few months now, and I absolutely love it. It’s the antithesis of a faceless, corporate gym: Harry, Jen, and the rest of the team couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. They know everyone by name, and are always around to offer advice and encouragement. The other members are lovely too – it’s a real community.

OUR CORE VALUES
A core value of our personal training brand is delivering a personalised and attentive exercise experience. To uphold our high standards, we intentionally keep our Reformer Pilates classes small, with a maximum ratio of 10:1 (members to coach). This ensures each participant receives the support and guidance they need to progress effectively. Group training in a Reformer Pilates setting offers an engaging and supportive environment, allowing participants to develop new skills and work toward their individual fitness goals. Pilates is a low-impact exercise method that enhances strength, mobility, and alignment. It refines movement patterns, strengthens the deep core muscles, and promotes overall body balance.

Our Commitment, Your Transformation
KEY PRINCIPLES OF PILATES
Concentration
Every movement begins with focus. By tuning into your body and engaging your mind, you enhance muscle activation, coordination, and overall effectiveness in your practice.
Control
Pilates is about quality over quantity. Each movement is executed with purpose, ensuring proper form and alignment to maximise benefits and prevent injury.
CENTRE
Known as the “powerhouse” of Pilates, your core is the foundation of all movement. Strengthening your centre improves stability, balance, and overall body strength.
Breath
Breath plays a crucial role in your pilates practice. Proper breathing helps to oxygenate your muscles, regulate your heart rate, and release tension. Synchronising your breath with your movements increases the effectiveness of the exercises.
PRECISION
Small details make a big difference. Pilates emphasises accuracy in movement, helping you develop proper muscle engagement and long-term postural improvements.
FLOW
Movements are designed to be smooth and continuous, creating a seamless connection between exercises. This fluidity enhances strength, flexibility, and grace in motion.

What Our Clients Say
Where Passion Meets Purpose
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is the workout different from conventional Pilates?
This depends on the class. We not only practice Pilates inspired movements, but also integrate other fitness disciplines to enhance posture, strength, stamina and flexibility. Rather than focusing on reps and sets, our emphasis is to combine continuous movement. Our devoted instructors amplify the sessions with music and their attention to detail. You will have a workout that is next level, helps you hit your targets and give you an appetite for more!
Where is the Pilates studio located?
Our Pilates studio is inside Precision One Health and Fitness, located within the Tollgate Hotel and Leisure facility on Ripon Road, Blurton, ST3 3BS.
How to find us:
When you arrive, walk past the Tollgate reception and continue down the corridor. At the end of the hallway, you’ll find our gym on the left. The Pilates studio is upstairs—you’ll see a designated space to sit and store your shoes before entering.
How often should I attend to see results?
Joesph Pilates himself said: ‘In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 you will see the difference, and in 30 you’ll have a whole new body’ We always advocate you always listen to your body. starting with 2 sessions a week is great, will build a foundation while also allowing the muscles to properly recover and repair. Once your fitness increases, you are welcome to always increase your sessions throughout the week.
What do I need to wear?
Please wear comfortable workout attire that lets you move and sweat! A comfortable T-shirt, shorts or leggings is great. You don’t need shoes; we recommend bare feet or grip socks.
Do you offer options for training during and after pregnancy?
Please contact us via email or phone to discuss your training options.
What if I need to cancel my class?
Please refer to our terms and conditions.
How fit do I need to be?
The hardest part is turning up. Once you’re in our hands, our instructors will work with you to maximise your potential, offering a personalised experience depending on fitness levels and abilities. We achieve this with our small class sizes. We also offer one to one training for those looking for a more bespoke experience.
What do I need to bring?
Yourself: The most important thing. A water bottle. We do have a small shop available for purchasing water Pre/post snack. We provide sweat towels. We have shower and changing facilities for your use.
Any tips on my first class?
Relax: You’re trying something new so, go easy on yourself. Be prepared to experience a challenging workout but keep in mind the first class is about becoming familiar with the carriage and apparatus. The apparatus and the exercises may be foreign to you, but it will get easier, and you will get results.
Need a more personal touch?
If you wish to explore 1-2-1 Reformer practice outside of class hours and receive a more bespoke exercise experience to improve your skills and build your confidence in Reformer or Mat-Based Pilates, you can work with one of our instructors 1-2-1.
We offer 1-2-1 Pilates instruction. For those who want to be taken on a process of developing their skills and seeing real results, please enquire for further information.
Is there a minimum age?
You can train with us from 16 years of age.
